Colorado Springs, CO – June 26, 2006 – PorchLight Communications
announced today that Wave7 Optics Inc., a leading supplier of
fiber-to-the-home/fiber-to-the-premises (FTTH/FTTP) equipment for
residential and business services will be the network platform
provider of choice. PorchLight Communications has installed
the Wave 7 Optics Last Mile Link™ (LML™) platform in several
communities and is planning deployment of Wave 7 Optics Trident7™
Optical Access Platforms for all new residential networks slated to
begin service in January 2007.
The Trident7 is the industry’s most advanced and flexible FTTP
platform, as it delivers standards-based EPON and GPON technologies
in the same platform, which allows service providers to deliver
cost-effectively a much broader array of services, as compared to
other access network technologies. A typical residential service
package will comprise over 150 channels of IP television, 40 music
channels and a data services exceeding 8 Mbps symmetrically.
